This website (blackpearlqatar.org) is operated by BlackPearl LLC (referred to in this Privacy Policy as “Black Pearl”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company registered in the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Qatar. BlackPearl LLC processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection requirements, including the Qatar Financial Centre Data Protection Regulations 2021 and Data Protection Rules 2021, where applicable.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information, depending on how you interact with the website.
Membership applications. When you apply for Black Pearl membership, we collect your name, email address, mobile number, industry, company, LinkedIn URL, how you heard about Black Pearl, what you hope to find through Black Pearl, your interests, and any referral information you choose to provide.
Contact enquiries. When you contact us through the website, we collect your name, email address, the reason for your enquiry, and your message.
Newsletter. Newsletter signup is not currently active on the website. When it is enabled, we will collect the email address you provide to subscribe. See “Newsletter” below.
Technical information. Operating the website necessarily involves our hosting and infrastructure providers processing basic technical information, such as the information a web server ordinarily receives when a page is requested. The website does not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and does not use tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar services. If this changes in future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- review and respond to membership applications;
- administer the Black Pearl membership and application process;
- respond to enquiries submitted through the website;
- operate and secure the website;
- prevent duplicate or spam submissions;
- communicate with you where appropriate in connection with your application or enquiry;
- send newsletter communications only where you have subscribed and confirmed your subscription; and
- comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use the information you provide for advertising or marketing profiling, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Legal Basis / Consent
We process your information where doing so is necessary to respond to your application or enquiry, to operate and improve Black Pearl, to comply with our legal obligations, or, in the case of newsletter communications, where you have given your consent by subscribing and confirming that subscription. You may withdraw consent for newsletter communications at any time — see “Newsletter” below.
5. Sharing Information
We do not sell your personal information. To operate the website and respond to applications and enquiries, we work with service providers who process information on our behalf, including:
- Supabase — website backend and secure storage of membership applications and contact enquiries;
- Resend — sending transactional email notifications related to your application or enquiry; and
- Brevo — managing newsletter subscriptions and double opt-in confirmation, once newsletter signup is enabled.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Black Pearl, our users or others, or to prevent fraud or misuse of the website.
6. International Processing
Some of the service providers listed above may process information on servers located outside Qatar. Where this occurs, we take appropriate steps, as required by applicable law, to ensure your information continues to be handled appropriately.
7. Retention
We retain the information we collect only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to meet applicable legal, regulatory, administrative or operational requirements.
8. Security
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures designed to protect the information you provide. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Newsletter
Newsletter signup is not currently active on the website. When it is enabled, subscribing will require double opt-in confirmation — you will receive a confirmation email and will only be added to our newsletter list once you confirm your subscription. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in any newsletter email, or by contacting info@blackpearlqatar.org.
11. External Links
The website may link to restaurants, venues, partners and third-party platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn, including as part of the Explore Qatar guide. These third parties have their own privacy practices, governed by their own privacy policies rather than this one. We encourage you to review them.
